Talentcamp Odense
The 16th of august I took the night train from Umeå heading for Odense. I was one of the 30 young nordic directors participating in this years Talentcamp Odense (held at Odense Filmfestival).
It was the second year that the talentcamp was held by Filmverkstaed Odense, inspired by the Talentcamp at Berlinale. The talentcamp consisted of a great number of masterclasses held by the directors participating in the festival.
There was mostly danish directors of documentaries and a few short film directors. One of my highlights was the reading of the participant's scripts held by Odense national theatre school and also the continuous screenings of our own films followed by discussions.
The only negative point was that the participants spent most time sitting down listening, for another year it would be a great idea to have more exercises and practical workshops in filmmaking. And let's hope that there one day can be a talentcamp for us filmmakers living up here in the Baltic area!
